Licensed Asbestos Works (AIB Encapsulation & Removal)
The Challenge
This live project in Great Yarmouth required licensed asbestos works to be carried out under fully controlled conditions, with multiple work areas operating simultaneously.
The presence of raw asbestos insulating board (AIB) and AIB debris within a loft space meant strict controls, specialist equipment, and experienced personnel were essential to manage risk and maintain compliance throughout the project.
Our Solution
MD Environmental mobilised a fully licensed team to site, installing two controlled enclosures supported by a connected decontamination unit, ensuring safe access and egress for operatives at all times.
The scope of works included:
Enclosure 1: Encapsulation of raw AIB under fully controlled conditions
Enclosure 2: Removal of AIB debris within the loft space, also under fully controlled conditions
All works were carried out in accordance with current asbestos regulations, with robust controls in place to protect site personnel, the building, and surrounding areas.
