Overview
MD Environmental recently commenced Phase One of a large commercial remediation project in London for KPH. The initial stage focused on constructing fully controlled asbestos enclosures and carrying out specialist needle gunning to remove residual insulation materials and surface contamination.
Extensive planning, robust containment measures and close coordination between contractors ensured the works could begin safely while maintaining full compliance with asbestos regulations.
The Challenge
Preparing contaminated wall surfaces requires much more than simply removing visible materials. Before remediation can continue, affected areas must be carefully prepared using specialist techniques that remove remaining bonded residues while protecting both operatives and the surrounding environment.
This project also required multiple live enclosures to be established throughout the building, allowing different work areas to progress safely and efficiently.
Our Solution
Our licensed asbestos team constructed fully compliant enclosures complete with shared airlocks, decontamination facilities, controlled access points and dedicated cleaning stations.
Using specialist needle gunning equipment, residual insulation materials and contaminated surface coatings were carefully removed to leave a clean substrate ready for the next stage of the remediation programme.
Throughout the project we worked closely with Ayerst Environmental Limited, who provided independent analytical support, helping ensure all works met the highest industry standards.
The Result
Phase One was successfully established, with multiple live enclosures operating simultaneously across the project.
