Groundworks & Site Preparation – Fort Halstead
The Challenge
Following a previous phase of works at Fort Halstead, MD Environmental was instructed to return to site to begin the next stage of the project, involving site preparation and groundwork ahead of formal asbestos notifications.
The project required careful mobilisation and planning to ensure all controlled working zones were established correctly, with groundwork activities carried out safely in readiness for the next phase of regulated works.
Working on a live, multi-phase project meant maintaining consistency in standards, coordination with the client, and ensuring a smooth transition between stages.
Our Solution
The MD Environmental team mobilised to site, implementing a structured approach to prepare the area for upcoming asbestos works.
Key elements of the works included:
- Continuation of works alongside the existing client team
- Establishment of controlled working zones and site segregation
- Groundwork and site preparation ahead of notifications
- Coordination with project stakeholders to ensure readiness for the next phase
All works were carried out with the same high standards of safety, planning and attention to detail established in previous phases.
The Result
The site was successfully prepared and ready for the next phase of works, with all groundwork and control measures in place ahead of notifications going live.
This project highlights MD Environmental’s ability to manage phased projects from mobilisation through to delivery, ensuring consistency, safety and efficiency at every stage.
A strong continuation of works delivered in collaboration with Soilfix Limited.
