Boiler Room Asbestos Removal | South East Commercial Project
Overview
MD Environmental was appointed to undertake the licensed removal of asbestos-containing materials within a commercial boiler room in the South East. Working in a live occupied environment required detailed planning, robust safety procedures and carefully controlled working areas to ensure asbestos removal could be completed safely while minimising disruption to the wider building.
The Challenge
Boiler rooms often contain complex mechanical services and restricted working spaces, making asbestos removal particularly challenging. As the building remained occupied throughout the project, our team needed to establish fully controlled enclosures, designated transit routes and strict access procedures to maintain safety for both operatives and building occupants.
Our Solution
Prior to removal works commencing, MD Environmental installed a fully licensed asbestos enclosure complete with airlocks, baglocks, negative pressure units and continuous monitoring systems. Secure transit routes were established to safely transport personnel and waste materials while preventing contamination outside the work area.
Every stage of the project was completed using licensed asbestos removal techniques, with comprehensive supervision and compliance procedures maintained throughout.
The Result
The asbestos-containing materials were successfully removed from the boiler room safely, efficiently and in full compliance with current asbestos legislation. Careful planning, specialist containment systems and experienced operatives ensured the project progressed smoothly while allowing surrounding areas of the building to remain operational.
The completed works provided a safe environment for future maintenance and refurbishment while demonstrating the importance of professional planning and licensed asbestos management.
