Night Programme Asbestos Works – Education Property
The Challenge
MD Environmental was instructed to deliver a night programme of asbestos-related works within an education property, requiring all activities to be carried out outside of normal operating hours.
The project involved working across two controlled enclosures, removing insulation debris and completing encapsulation works, while maintaining strict safety and segregation within a live environment.
With a programme spanning 26 night shifts, careful coordination, planning and consistency were essential to ensure safe and efficient delivery throughout.
Our Solution
The MD Environmental team implemented a structured night working programme, ensuring all works were carried out under fully controlled conditions.
Key elements of the works included:
- Removal of insulation debris from walls and ceilings
- Encapsulation of wall surfaces to achieve a safe, compliant finish
- Sealing of a redundant boiler using encapsulation, polythene and ply, followed by a final sealed layer
- Application of a floor coating to complete the area to MD Environmental standards
- Management of two controlled enclosures throughout the programme
Works were carefully phased and coordinated across all 26 night shifts, ensuring safety, consistency, and minimal disruption to the site.
The Result
The project was completed safely and efficiently across 26 night shifts, delivering a fully compliant and clean environment ready for continued use.
This project highlights MD Environmental’s ability to deliver out-of-hours asbestos works programmes, maintaining high standards of safety, coordination and finish within sensitive environments.
Another strong delivery by the team, supported by excellent collaboration across all parties involved.
