The Challenge
MD Environmental was instructed to carry out asbestos insulation removal works on two surge tanks at a London Energy facility.
The project required urgent intervention to enable essential repair works to take place. However, the plant needed to remain operational throughout the programme, meaning that one surge tank had to remain live at all times to ensure critical machinery could continue operating safely.
Working within a busy industrial energy facility presented additional challenges, including restricted working areas, live mechanical services and strict operational safety requirements. Careful coordination with the site’s engineering teams was essential to ensure the works could progress without impacting plant operations.
